Vinayaka Chaturthi

Vinayaka Chaturthi, also known as Ganesh Chaturthi or Vinayaka Chavithi, is one of the most important Hindu festivals celebrated in Chamarajanagar district. The festival honors Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles and the deity of wisdom, prosperity, and success. Families, temples, and community groups install beautifully decorated Ganesha idols and conduct special prayers and devotional programs.

Across Chamarajanagar, streets and temples are decorated with flowers, lights, and colorful festival decorations. Devotees offer modaks, coconuts, fruits, and traditional sweets to Lord Ganesha while chanting devotional hymns. Cultural programs, bhajans, and community gatherings create a vibrant atmosphere throughout the district. The festival concludes with grand immersion processions where devotees bid farewell to Lord Ganesha and pray for his return the following year.
